Meet your coach
Life doesn't colour inside the lines — neither should your wellness.
I'm Vera Decena — grief-informed integrated nutrition counsellor & health and wellness coach. I partner with mental-health professionals and community organisations to bring the body back into the grief conversation.

Health-science nerd.
Young widow.
Here's how I became a coach, counsellor and companion
Nutrition consumed my thoughts from a young age.
I was fascinated by metabolism — how food becomes energy, how the body decides what to do with it. That took me to a B.Sc. (Honours) in Food, Nutrition & Health at UBC, and then a decade of work with governments, non-profits and community food programs: food banks, nutrition literacy, kitchens in women's shelters, farmers' markets.
Then my world unraveled.
My partner of eight years died. I knew about health — so why couldn't I just make this better? Eating, exercise and seeing people all fell away. My body felt uncomfortable and unfamiliar, and the science I carried didn't reach it. What did, eventually, was grief counselling, community, peers, and very small, intentional steps back toward my body.
My healing began with small steps.
That experience sent me to train as an integrative nutrition counsellor, a trauma-loss facilitator and a coach — and to build ColourFull Nutrition as the place I wish had existed: scientific, holistic, big-picture, and unafraid to talk about the body in grief.
"We walk alongside our grievers. We do the work — not the grievers."

The ColourFull difference
Scientific. Holistic. Big picture.
We stand against one-size-fits-all health advice, complicated science and oversimplified wellness. Healing is non-linear and systems-level, and the plan should be too.
Curiosity
Ask what the craving is asking for. Ask what the 3 a.m. wake-up is doing. Nothing in the body is random.
Compassion
Fed is better than perfect. We lower the bar on purpose, then raise it only when there is capacity.
Courage
Say the physiology out loud. Name the parts of grief most programs skip — appetite, immunity, exhaustion.
Creativity
Paper, colour and story. If the science can't be felt, it can't be used on a hard day.
